About Andre Rieu
André Rieu is a Dutch violinist and conductor known for creating the Johann Strauss Orchestra. André began studying violin at the age of five and developed a fascination with orchestra. He studied violin at the Conservatoire Royal in Liège and at the Conservatorium Maastricht. Rieu is fluent in Dutch, English, German, French, Italian and Spanish. He and his orchestra have turned classical and waltz music into a worldwide concert touring act, as successful as some of the biggest global pop and rock music acts. André Rieu created the Johann Strauss Orchestra in 1987 with 12 members. They performed their first concert on the 1st of January in 1988 and have been exploding in popularity ever since. André Rieu’s work and dedication has garnered immense appreciation and praise from most people who have attended his concerts. With over 700k followers on Instagram and almost 4m subscribers on YouTube, it’s safe to say that André’s performances have brought joy to millions of people.
